Native software is asked to speed up
Since the sanctions began, the IT industry has established new logistics chains, parallel imports have come into play, software developers have received serious support from the state and are making great progress. At the same time, there is a shortage of import substitution projects in narrow segments. Now Russian companies understand the importance of using domestic developments and are implementing IT solutions that they had not even thought about before. This was stated by Alexey content writing service Podryabinnikov, Vice President and Director for Corporate Customers at Rostelecom, at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (CIPR-2023) conference on May 31.

the functionality and quality of Russian software are growing very quickly and should reach the required level in a couple of years
If enterprises are already using foreign software or equipment, they are forced to compare it with domestic analogues to determine which area of production and their business processes may "sag", noted Dmitry Kichko. If we are talking about purchasing and implementing new systems, then there are more variations, and customers evaluate potential solutions in terms of their capabilities.
Stanislav Iodkovsky, CEO of IVKS (brand IVA Technologies), said that in two years, foreign IT companies will not have a chance to return to Russia. Speaking at a conference, he explained that the country is currently undergoing a period of digital transformation, which in a few years will reach a level where Western players will no longer be needed.
The expert also believes that Russian IT developers will continue to increase their revenue for at least another three to four years. Russia has become more active in creating its own developments, the demand for which is constantly growing.
At CIPR-2023, Igor Orellana Ursua, Executive and Technical Director of SiSoft Development, called for import substitution to be adopted as a new round of development. He noted that after the departure of foreign companies, domestic players faced a choice: to use a license for foreign software that has not yet expired or to urgently switch to Russian software. The expert believes that there is no need to lean towards using Western software, since the level of readiness of domestic software has already reached high values.
